Bio

Fries owns her own tax practice in San Diego, California. She has been preparing taxes since 2008. Her practice philosophy centers on “wealth through taxation,” by providing clients with tax knowledge year over year. With a significant military affiliation, Fries's practice supports transitioning veterans as they navigate their new tax reality post-service. In 2022, she helped introduce DIY tax workshops on the San Diego Marine Corps. Recruit Depot.

This presentation walks through 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 tax returns of a military couple that unnecessarily paid over $40,000 in state taxes. It demonstrates the importance of understanding military domicile and the tax impacts of doing it incorrectly.
