Bio
Collins is the National Taxpayer Advocate, appointed in 2020, where she leads the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) and serves as the “Voice of the Taxpayer” within the IRS and before Congress. In this role, she works to resolve complex taxpayer issues, improve IRS processes and protect taxpayer rights.
Collins has more than 35 years of experience in tax law, including time in the IRS Office of Chief Counsel and as a tax managing director at KPMG, where she led the firm’s tax controversy practice. She is a recognized leader and frequent speaker on IRS operations, tax administration and taxpayer rights.
